Here's hoping the day is going well for all of you, here I am enjoying a sunny (albeit cold) September morning listening to the sounds of children running and playing a few yards away. Yet another great day to be alive! I watched the sun rise with quiet contemplation and sipped my tea, and I wondered how it had suddenly become so dark in the mornings, and how it had crept up on me. What other secret things are sneaking up on me, that I have not yet become aware of? The seasons, age, and health come to mind, all gradual, and most are inevitable. I try to think cheerfully of these things, and though I am very young I feel I have gained some wisdom through the marked passage of these changes and through being aware of them. Fall is the time of contemplation, the paused breath before the tumbling trial of winter. Time seems to slow, and we are introduced to old familiar experiences which hold some sentimental and perhaps melancholy feelings for us. The end of Spring, the falling leaves, the herald of darker and colder times. But whatever it means to you, it will always mean change to me. Change towards the hibernation of the greener things and the clean slate washed by the rain. Change towards slower times, quieter times, times when the light that shines within us radiates when the winter sun becomes dark with clouds, rain, and snow. The outside world becomes more barren, more inhospitable, but the human spirit is given the greatest opportunity in these times to show its honorable history of bringing hope and joy when we need it the most.

I know I might be jumping the gun a bit but I changed my lj layout to reflect the coming Autumn season. In case you were wondering, it's my favorite. My favorite part is a draw between the beauty of the season (changing leaves and all that) and the fact that it has my most beloved of holidays, Halloween. Halloween is the best holiday of the year because children get to dress up and get candy and adults can dress up too, celebrate the harvesty times and make pumpkins into lighting fixtures. Truly, it is the most unique of American-celebrated holidays. Anyhow as it's only the beginning of September I acknowledge my talk of Autumn is a bit early. I'm still excited to see the Equinox coming in only 2 weeks!
In other news, I finally got my wedding dress last weekend and I am very very happy with it. If you want pictures I'll happily send you the link to them! That is one very big part of the whole thing out of the way, and now I can concentrate on the other little details like cake, catering, decor etc etc. Yay!
